Ties at the Kingdom Hall
by CloseTheDoor incouple of weeks ago an elder took a young man aside and crawled all over him after the tms for wearing a "skinny" tie.
it was one of those 2 inch wide ties.
nothing bright or scandalous about.

hahaha...I was scolded after a Sunday assembly at an elders meeting for wearing a leather blazer. At-the-time C.O. Louis Razor said all brothers should wear a matching suit and trouser combination at all times. I figured it was just his way of saying I should go buy leather trousers. .....idiots..... -

Legal Website AVVO's Headline " "Outrageously Wealthly Religious Leaders Under Investigation!"
by PokerPlayerPhil inhttp://nakedlaw.avvo.com/money/6-outrageously-wealthy-preachers-under-federal-investigation.html.
if you don't know what avvo is, it's a website run by professional lawyers on all subjects, you can ask them any question.
i am looking for all the old jim and tammy bakker, the jerry falwell and oral roberts videos to show you how the governing body is using their scripts, it's totally uncanny how copyright infringement of "begging for money from the poorest segments of society", their totally wicked!

Congrats for having the courage to look outside the Borg. But, I'm sure not who else my be 'in and visiting here...not anymore. Was 'in' for 50 years and nearly killed myself over it (literally) more than once. Out and happy to be out. Wife still pissed and won't talk at all about it, but nothing I can do until she's ready.....if ever. Keep looking, someday you may be on the 'free' side too. -

Seriously condsidering disasscoiating
by Ashley L. ini am seriously considering disassociating myself.
i want to do this because i no longer consider myself one of jehovah's witnesses.
i no longer consider jehovah as my god and i am in a new religion now.

Don't burn bridges....once they're gone, they are gone. Never the same even if you re-build them. Just fade away and you'll have all the pleasure (of still having at least some relationship with family) and none of the pain (in the butt from JW's)....it will take some time but stand your ground, and decline offers from elders who want to 'help' you spiritually. I speak from experience: fade slowly into the background until you just disappear. -

“We are not done yet!” – Candace Conti reacts to appeal court decision
by Watchtower-Free inhttp://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/we-are-not-done-yet-candace-reacts-to-appeal-court-decision.
candace conti (pictured in her interview with abc) has spoken out for the first time about the appeal court decision.
as current and former jehovahs witnesses digest the news that watchtowers appeal against the candace conti verdict has faltered, albeit with the punitive element of the judgment reversed, candace has reacted for the first time by telling me: we are not done yet.. news spread on monday that the state appeals court in san francisco had upheld the $2.8 million compensatory damages in the original june 2012 verdict, but overturned the $8.6 million punitive award against watchtower.. the court decided that, though watchtower had neglected its responsibility to supervise known pedophile jonathan kendrick in field ministry, a church-sponsored activity, the organization had no duty to warn parents in the congregation that a pedophile was in their midst or report him to authorities.. an insightful report by investigative reporter trey bundy has suggested that the court reached its decision because the precedent set by the conti verdict might be too burdensome to enforce.. the burden would be considerable because the precedent could require a church to intervene whenever it has reason to believe that a congregation member is capable of doing harm, and the scope of that duty could not be limited with any precision, the judges wrote.. candaces attorney rick simons responded by pointedly telling bundy: they think in public policy terms that theres too much risk in broadening the churchs responsibility and liability so that it burdens what churches do.

Do what's in your heart Candace Conti....we are all behind you 100%. Is enough, enough? Or will you take the boat all the way down the river to the lake? Either way, we all love you. We support you! -

I find it laughable that Jehovah would help a worldly person fix his construction leak, but not safeguard his own organization from bad publicity...I hope more bad publicity is coming. Good for Candace Conti. May she find satisfaction and contentment and move on with her life, happy and fulfilled. -

Talking with JW Elders possibly..
by bradford inas i wrote in a previous post i have recently written a da letter to the elders and haven't heard anything in the way of an announcement, phone call, or visit since.
i called the elder the letter was personally written to yesterday and left a vm to call me back which he did this morning.
he said they did get it but were meaning to call me and possibly meet with me to try and see if there was anything they could do to encourage me because they of course find this very sad.

My 2c: Write a letter to the editor of your local biggest newspaper and state your decision for not wanting to be known as a J.W. anymore. ...explain why in a respectful manner. IF (that may be a big IF, depending on the editor and publishers regulations) they print it, you will have at least explained publicly how you feel and why. You'll never get that thru the congregation. You just might even get other j-dubs to thinking, but don't count on it. If you have the finances, you could buy a couple of column inches and have a "public notice' printed in the classified section for a few days. The more that know, the better. -

Been there with you Big Dummy (which you obviously are not). I feel you brother, as do sooooooo many others. Hang in, hang out, but mostly hang on to your sanity. I'm in my mid-60's and like so many wasted my best years trying to believe the crap-truth. Finally overwhelmed, I gave it up. The result? Life is good, grand, and sadly too far gone. So be it. Make the most of your new found contentment. I wish you peace.
